  1. It's that time . . . I need to purchase a new filter for my Marquis Rendezvous spa. Can anyone tell me what replacement filter model number I need? I can't find the specs in my owner's manual anywhere! It's the type of filter with the handle on the top and the screw in base. Any suggestions on where to purchase one, other than from my Marquis dealer? Thank you.
  2. Then I guess I'd better get some 303! Thanks everyone.
  3. I just purchased a new cover for my spa. My old one (the original one) fell apart at the seams after about 2 years. I think my main problem is that my spa is in constant strong sun during the day, and the UV rays broke down the hinge seam. The vinyl itself didn't hold up too well either. Is there any type of product on the market that I could put on my new vinyl cover to help protect it from the strong sun? Maybe something that could be applied directly to the cover? I would consider one of those protective caps that goes over the cover, but I have a triangular spa so it's an odd shape to fit, plus my spa is in a high wind area and I don't think one would stay put anyway.
  4. I, too, am in the market for a new spa cover. Does anyone have any experience with spacoverz.com? It seems like it would be easy to order from them since I can just order according to my spa maker, model and year made.
  5. Does anyone know if there is a cover lifter available for the world's smallest triangle shaped spa, my Marquis Rendezvous?
  6. The electric blanket idea is interesting. It's something to try. Also keeping my robe inside could work. The suggestion that my spa may be too cool could be part of the problem. I do get cold as soon as I get out, but I only have the temp set at around 100. I'll try it a little warmer next time. Wind is a big problem where I live. The spa is on an open 3rd floor deck and I live on the bay in NJ. The wind is always whipping here. Sometimes the spray from the jets tries to freeze on my face while I'm in the spa. Thanks to all for your suggestions.
  7. OK, since several of you mentioned Crocs, I went out a bought a pair today. Got a good deal on a pair of genuine Crocs in cotton candy pink on closeout for $12. I'll give them a try, but they look like they'll keep my feet from freezing to the deck surface while I'm covering the spa. Now if I could only figure out to do with the rest of my body, I'd be in business.
  8. Hi All, Now that it's cold at night here in the northeast, I have a question for all you seasoned outdoor spa users. This is my first year with my spa, so this is the coldest weather I've used it in. I don't want to give away all my secrets, but my spa is in a secluded location and I don't wear anything when I use it. I go outside on the deck wearing a long robe, and when my spa cover is off, I quickly disrobe and hop in. That's the easy part. Getting out is more difficult! My body is toasty warm, but now I have to get out! So I get out of the spa, and try to find the correct way to put my robe back on. I can't find the armhole . . . brrr! I finally get my robe back on, slip some slippers on my freezing feet, and attempt to put the cover back on the spa and lock it. By this time, my relaxed body is tense again and my warmth is all gone. Just wondering what you all do in the cold weather as far as disrobing, and re-robing when you're done your spa session. Any suggestions? Thanks!
  9. Hillbilly, where can I buy the clarifier on line? I looked on eBay but only saw pool water clarifier, and I assume this is not the same to use on spas. I'm sure my spa dealer has it, but I can't get there anytime soon, since their hours are the same as my work hours. Thanks.
  10. I am fairly new at this spa chemical thing. My spa has had it's first water in it for about 6 or 7 weeks now. At first, the water was clean and clear. Now I notice when the spa is running, the water looks cloudy. When I look at the still water in bright sunlight, it looks like there are hundreds of tiny white specks floating on top, as well as oily swirls. I use AquaChek test strips and everything tests OK. My filter is clean - it runs to clean for two hours a day. Mine is a very small spa - only about 150 gallons. I have used Renew shock treatment several times, but it doesn't seem to help. Should I just empty and start over? But what did I do wrong, and how do I make sure this doesn't happen again? Thanks for any help.
  11. I am a new owner/user of a Marquis Rendezvous. I have a couple of questions that I've asked my dealer, but I'd feel better "talking" to you experts: 1. Is it normal for my spa to run for a minute or two about twice an hour? I guess it's heating up (it's not filtering when it does this), but only running for a minute or two seems like it wouldn't really do much to heat the water up, or keep it heated. 2. Is there a way to set it so it dips down a little more in temp before it kicks back on to heat up? This would be so it doesn't just run 1 to 2 minutes twice an hour or so. 3. When I get in the spa and hit the "jets" button, sometimes the jets shut off after 15 minutes, sometimes after 21 minutes, and sometimes after 25 minutes. I thought it was on a 15 minute timer. Why sometimes does it shut off after these other odd times? Any other info on how Marquis spas run as far as what is normal would be appreciated. I am really surprised how quickly my little spa heats up to temp, but it's not too cold out where I live right now. Thanks for any help.
  12. Concrete block walls are pretty good sound insulation. I don't think your neighbor will have too much problem with the noise from your tub. But you should ask him if he can hear it. Yes, I finally had a chance to ask my neighbor, and he says they can't hear my spa running at all through the concrete block wall. Yea!
  13. Yes, I figured this out from the book that came with the spa. But if I just set it for "1d" or "1n" to run once in the day or once in the night, how does it know when day and night is? Also, I guess any time it filters or heats up, it runs the jets at low speed? I notice that it runs for about a minute every hour or so. I guess it's heating up then. Is there any way to change this part of the setting so it would cool off more before it kicks on for a minute? I'd rather it run for 5 minutes every couple hours than for 1 minute every 45 minutes to 1 hour. Thanks for all your help.
  14. This may seem like a weird question, and maybe I should ask my spa dealer, but I figured someone here would know. When I set my control panel to do the filter cleaning thing, I can set it for 1 hour, 2 hours, etc. Then you choose either twice a day, or once a day in the daytime, or once a day at night. But how does it know when day and night is? There isn't a clock in the control panel. This is one of those things that will keep me up at night until I know the answer!
