hrustar Posted November 11, 2009 Report Posted November 11, 2009 My instructions say to soak the filters once a month in a cleaning solution for 24 hours. Fair enough. Just wondering, do I need to purchase filter cleaning chemicals as suggested, or is there a common household product I can use instead? Quote

THE SPA GUY Posted November 12, 2009 Report Posted November 12, 2009 usually you can do a filter spray let soak for 5 minutes the hose off till no foam. then every 4 months when you drain you tub soak over night in filter clean, this is a leisure time product. this is what our customers do...... The Pup Posted November 12, 2009 Report Posted November 12, 2009 Even though I always keep an extra set of filters on standby, I only do an overnight TSP deep clean once a year (unless I have other indicators that necessitate immediate TSP deep cleaning). However, I do the above mentioned 5-minute spray-on application and thorough rinse every 30-days without fail. For many years I rotated filters after each refill and did the overnight TSP soak...but for me, I have found I do not need that level/interval of deep cleaning. P.S. I have had a set of Unicel filters last me nearly 15 years without any issues with a normal annual cleaning procedure. Quote
