texasdontholdem Posted June 18, 2009 Report Posted June 18, 2009 My current 18" sand filter just cracked on me..... I have a lead on a cheap 22" sand filter? Is it wrong to move to a bigger filter? I have a 1HP pump and an 18' above ground pool? Thoughts? Quote

imnay Posted June 20, 2009 Report Posted June 20, 2009 Forgive me for going a bit Off Topic but have you ever considered switching from sand to a cartridge filter? We've never used sand and have always use a cartridge filter and it seems more simple that having to backwash or whatever you do with sand - we just pull the cartridge and clean it quickly with a wash down with a hose and pop it back in.
