pretzelsb Posted July 30, 2008 Report Posted July 30, 2008 I am in process of buying a fiberglass pool. The pool company suggests( although not pressuring) I purchase a salt water chlorine generator instead od a regular chlorine system. Can anyone advise the actual difference and also, the pros & cons to each system. will the water be as "clean" using the salt water? any feedback is appreciated. Thanks Quote
Strannik Posted July 30, 2008 Report Posted July 30, 2008 just as clean swg is better because it doesn't add anything else to your water you can read more about swgs here Quote
don pool Posted July 30, 2008 Report Posted July 30, 2008 Salt water chlorine generators work great in fiberglass pools. It does not require you to get the salt level parts per million perfect, there is a big swing in whats ok and whats not. The only downside is if you have a lot of calcium in your water you end up having to clean the cell more often. I use the Pentair inteli-chlor because they are so good about warranty issues. Quote
