RMACK
Looking at buying a Cover lifter (Covermate 1) Have a 04 Sundance Capri. Do I really need the Sundance model or will the normal one be fine. Most dealers only carry the standard model and act like they don't know what I am talking about when I mention the one made for the Sundance. If you have the composite cabinet, you can use the standard brackets. If you have the wood cabinet, I believe you should use the special brackets for Sundance Spas. My SD dealer only uses the standard brackets now, but almost all the spas they sell are the composite. The standard brackets are not steel while the SD brackets are and will eventually rust...though the cover lifter itself only lasts so long. I just ordered a Covermate One from rhtubs with the Sundance brackets, but I have the wood cabinet.

Thank you for your response!!

Thank you for your response!! The standard brackets cover up the access panels on the wood cabinets. One thing to keep in mind though as you look at your cabinet is the small-profile design of the SD CM1 bracket may allow it to be installed in a "thicker" panel as you will be able to attach not only to the panel but also the surrounding trim. So the Sundance Model you think attaches to the under frame and not just the panel?
Dr. Spa
Notice the screws attaching the bracket at the top.

tony
Notice the screws attaching the bracket at the top. My cover lifter arrived today....just like the picture. Thanks Doc for the quick service...that was fast. I am now going to try something new with the floating blanket that arrived with the lifter. Dr. Spa
DOC WHICH MODEL DO YOU THINK HOLD UP THE BEST ???? What are my choices? The covermat 1, either the regular or sundace model? The regular has plastic brackets... I don't like em, and am suspicious of their longevity. The sundance model has brackets that can flex due to their design, I ain't too keen on that either. I am open to sugestions as far as make and model, I am new to this Spa thing. really happy to have some input from folks who have been there. Dennnis
I have the Cover lifter Covermate 1 with the plastic brackets. Same as in photos others have attached. My Spa cabinet panels are composit panels. The brackets are molded, they are strong and I do not see them becoming a problem so long as your only lifting the cover and not trying to pull an engine out of your Ford pick-up truck. I have been using cover lifter for a year and no problems.
