mamagreenfrog
My husband emptied our Keys Veracruz hot tub to change to the water. When he filled it back up everything has power but it won't move any water. It's like it is vapor locked or something. Does anyone have any clue how to fix this? Or maybe have a phone # to a help hotline for Keys Hot tubs?

If you have your manual, there is probably something in it about bleeding the lines or priming the pumps. The Keys website is www.keysbackyard.com. I couldn't find a manual on line, but they have these contact numbers: Keys Backyard, L.P. 2901 W. Kingsley Rd. Garland, Texas 75041 General Assistance: 800-408-9000 Technical Service: 877-897-7493 If you can't wait until you can talk to them, you can often bleed the lines by slightly loosening the fittings at the pumps until the air bleeds out and the water can flow. Then retighten them. I'd do it with the power off...Also, make sure the water level is high enough in the tub to be filling the filter. Good luck

marksnwv
I tried your suggestion today Decemnber 29. I had cleaned and refilled my hot tub. I tried 4 or 5 times to get the motor to prime with out success. i found yhis article on the web and read it. I turned off the power to the hot tub .. I loosened the fitting at the motor until the air was out and the water started draining. I retightened the fitting and turned the hot tub on. It primed without problem. Thanks for the information. wireman
There might be bleed fittings on your pump also that you can loosen. Mine has those. Also you can pull the filter and use a toilet plunger without handle to pump water into your hoses.
Coastside Spas
Keys does not provide a way to efficiently bleed air from the pump or plumbing. Their suggestion is to be sure you always fill the spa through the filter opening. Take this one step further and remove the filter cartridge and shove the hose as far down the filter enclosure as possible. Leav it in until the spa is filled within an inch of the full point (usually about 2 inches above the base of the skimmer opening) turn on the system, wait for code "PR" to display and press the pump button. as soon as the pump primes, pull out the hose. put your filter back in and you should be running ok. If this does not work for you, then the previous method of loosening the pump union while off, is your only reasonable option. There is another method I employ as a professional and that is to install a simple bleed line from the pump outlet to a high point just inside the shell where you can let the air escape during fill out and close when the pump primes, if anyone would like some details on this I have can provide this here or throught private email.
