Disable Heater, Vacation switch

Hi. I've been researching about the Vacation option on Balboa circuit boards. On some versions people have seemingly used a switch across jumper J29 on the board to disable heating (and circ pump) during peak electricity pricing.

My version of the board happens to have J44 marked as VAC and I was hoping that this would do the same thing.

I tried it (I.e. shorting the jumper) but it appears to have no effect on the heating. It still heats whenever the temp drops below the setting. Thus giving me no option to suppress heating during peak times.

Can anyone help or advise how I might be able to achieve this?

Many TIA!

Post photos of circuit board, schematic on inside cover and the topside control so we can see what you have

J44 on my particular board is marked 'VAC' - and other people with different boards have apparently used VAC (on J29) to disable heater on their boards.
