2021 HS Flair or 2018 HS Grandee?

Hi All, I am so grateful for this amazing forum and community!  Soon to be first time hot tub owner and I have learned a ton!

Which would you buy?  A 2021 (or 2022?) HS Flair on order that may or may not come 6+ months from now?  Or a 2018 Grandee that we could get in the next couple of weeks and start enjoying?

Our best local dealer in our small town is a HS dealer so we ordered a Flair about 7 months ago.  Target date was "end of summer" and/or third quarter.  But honestly I'm very doubtful we'd get the Flair before the end of the year.  They have totally evaded any inquiries we've made for delivery updates.  Based on what I've seen in my research they probably have no idea at this point.

So we are considering buying used, now that I've educated myself thoroughly on hot tub maintenance.  Never would have thought we'd consider it but these are strange times!  Also my husband's  back pain is not getting better and our kids are getting older quickly.  We could have a lot of fun between now and when the Flair might be delivered.  We aren't getting any younger either - my hubby has wanted a tub for a very very long time.

The Grandee has supposedly been used very little but maintained and been kept full the whole time.  It does not have the ACE salt which I consider a plus for a used tub.  I'd hope to get my dealer's "blessing" to hire them for future support and I'd buy all my chemicals and covers from them, etc.

Going to look at the Grandee in person on Wednesday - I have a professional hot tub mover lined up if I need him.

Thoughts or advice?  Thank you in advance!

Your dealer should have an idea of when your hot tub would come in as long as it was part of their 2021 allocation.  I was given tentative production dates for all of my 2021 orders back in March.  There have been delays, but Hot Spring is providing weekly updates to dealers so they know how production is going.

As for the Grandee, condition and price are everything.  You need to see if filled and running and I would want to look inside the equipment area to make sure no issues there either.  Keep in mind the Grandee has no warranty.

Thank you to both of you!  It's a lot to think about.  And yes I learned from here that I need to see it full and running in person.  I'm ok with the no warranty as long as my dealer is willing to service it (for a price, of course).
