SwimMom
Hello everyone! We put up an Intex metal frame pool so our competitive swimmer can tether train until swim practice resumes. Our pool didn’t come with a pump, so we got the saltwater pump/filter from Amazon. It’s all set up now (figured out the need for B adapters) except for the inlet jet nozzle — photo attached — which came with the pool but absolutely will not fit as shown in the instruction manual. Has anyone else run into this problem? The idea of cutting the pool lining makes me super nervous. Is there another way? Also, our pool didn’t come with the plunger valve — also shown in an attached photo. And finally, should we go ahead and add the salt to the pool while we’re sorting out these last steps? Many thanks in advance for sharing your expertise with pool newbies. Hope you’re all doing well and enjoying your pools!
RDspaguy
I believe that the part with the black cap is the plunger valve, just a different design than the picture. It should unscrew or remove somehow so that the large nut can be removed and the fitting installed in the pool wall.
SwimMom
I think you’re right about the plunger valve, RDspaguy, thanks! But even with it removed and the large nut out of the way, the fitting is too large for the provided hole in the pool wall.
RDspaguy
How much too big? It's a soft wall pool, right? Can you coax it in with some pushing and cussing? If not, I would contact the manufacturer. I wouldn't cut that.
