Watters
Auto fill system for in ground pool is not working. How does this system work and is it a DIY fix? Thanks.
RDspaguy
Depends on the system. Can you post a pic?

RDspaguy
That is just a float valve, like in your toilet. They can get stuck, or just plain go bad. If it is overfilling, you need a new valve.
Watters
the issue is the pool will not auto fill. Is this s threaded at the base?
RDspaguy
Oh, your title said overflow. What is the blue tape wrapped pipe thingy in your pic? I would think it would unscrew. It should also have another valve to turn it off for winterization. Do you know where that is?
Watters
No clue as to the blue tape. I do not know where the winterization valve would be. Is this to shut off water supply to auto fill?
RDspaguy
Yes. And your autofill pipe is probably 1" or 3/4" pipe, like the one wrapped in blue tape. I suspect it is just turned off somewhere. They could not leave it on when the pool was closed.
