Susanj
I am getting ready to do a shock and a flush for biofilm , then dump and refill my bromine spa, but am confused about a few things. This is at a vacation rental and we've always had someone else taking care of it but I am trying to learn to do it myself. The spa is 3 years old. Two years ago I asked our guy to use the Aahsome I bought and he said it got nothing out. I read somewhere that " Superchlorination is a process in which the chlorine level in water is raised to abnormally high levels over a very short period of time, usually a few hours. “ but the same article said superchlorination is also known as shocking. When I shock, I was told by mfr to just add enough MPS non chlorine shock or Dichlor to get to the ideal reading of 3-5 ppm. But this makes it sound like you have to get it up high and then wait for it to come down? And do you only do this high level on a refill?
