Problem pool
I am showing 0 for the total Alkalinity and cannot raise it. I have a cement pool that has 32,000 gals of water. How much baking soda can I add at one time?

Travis Schonleber
Down load to your smart phone the Orenda App. When you open the app enter the gallons upper right and toggle left and right your current levels on the left side under “current levels”. On the right side enter your desired levels. Look at the bottom and you will see red or green and a number. The goal is to get as close to 0.0 as possible. Click on get dose and the next page shows you to the ounce what to add. Always premix the chemicals in a bucket, add chemicals to water in the bucket and add around the perimeter of the pool. waterbear
Hows are you testing your pool water? What is your pH? Alkalinity is a function of pH and if yo are showing 0 TA then I suspect that your pH might be dangerously low. Please post a full set of test results (Free and Total Chlorine), pH, TA, CH, and CYA and the testing method (strips, drop based test, colorimeter, pool store testing and their method) and you question can be answered. Without accurate test results it's impossible to answer.
