Necessary to Power Off at Breaker?

Recommended Posts

Many spas are hardwired in, like mine is (1988 CalSpa).  Back then these weren't even required to have ground fault protection, I installed my own GFCI, and I use that to disconnect from the electrical source, as my circuit breaker box is outside the fence on the other side of the house.

They just want you to be safe; I guarantee that if you have a plug-in spa that when it's unplugged you are safe.

If one does disconnect at the breaker box, one can add a padlock there as a lock out, tag out protection.
