pisano772
Hey, I have been having issues with my pool so far this summer and can not figure out a solution. So far my manual vacuum can not get enough suction. It would take me hours and hours to clean my pool and i still would not get everything up from the bottom. I also have an automatic vacuum, the polaris 360 which is a pressure pool cleaner, i mainly use that. Of course i run into problems with that also with the pressure. For some reason i lose so much pressure every week, especially the last three weeks. I do everything that the directions that came with my pool stated to do, new homeowner first time with a pool. One thing that i tried three weeks ago was cleaning out the D.E filter because it was covered with leaves, started it right back up and had so much pressure that the polaris vacuum worked great. A week and a half later i was getting horrible pressure again, so i tried to clean it out again, and of course there was a good amount of leaves in there. Tried to start the pump again but it would not circulate water, googled and found to backwash my pool for two minutes, started it up and it worked great again. SOO today I'm in the same situation and before i try to clean out the DE filter again i want to make sure that its ok what I'm doing. Sorry for the long message, its just driving me insane. pisano772
Browsing through the message board and saw someone had a similar problem and was told to change the DE Filter Cartridge. Would that work?
Cusser
Browsing through the message board and saw someone had a similar problem and was told to change the DE Filter Cartridge. Would that work? Most likely. Like a home vacuum cleaner, a motor or pump pulls the dirt which is caught on a filter bag (home) or your pool filter. As these filters clog, there is less throughput, that is: less suction (and reduced flow/pressure returning to the pool). Are you able to set the filter control to "discharge" or "waste" and then do your vacuuming? That would show to be a clogged filter cartridge, or just try a brand new cartridge.
