Tsco
In addition to the auto fill valve able to fill a pool to the desired level..can it also drain to a desired level? I ask this because my pool's level became too high so I lowered the auto fill level..for the past three days my street drain has been steadily trickling a small amount of water..the only place it could come from is my pool; but I am unsure that it is the auto fill draining vice a leak. My pool is only 17 months old (gunite with pebble tec); so I would like to think that it isn't leaking! My auto fill is a Paramount Paralevel. Any thoughts would be appreciated! Pool Clown
An overflow line can be incorporated into this unit. I suppose you would either have to investigate this yourself (visually in the can), or ask your pool builder if he used that option on the auto filler. http://www.1paramount.com/products/paralevel/
stevenz1g
Essentially what spa guru said ^. Most autofills will have a drain port near the top of the casing to prevent serious overflows going into yard and what. Are you 120% positive that the pool is the only thing routed to your street drain? Do some inspections... go to your autofill and see if you hear any water bypassing an o-ring it shouldn't be. Shut the fill line OFF to your autofill for a week or so and see if that alleviates the problem.
