Loosemoose
We have a new Hot Spring Grandee and love it so far! We use it a lot and I have to add about 1" of water every two weeks. I went outside this morning and we had a heavy frost over night and my tub cover is covered with frost except in the middle. There is a un frosted strip the entire length where it " hinges" the two halves together. My question is is this normal or is the cover not fitt or installed properly? Thanks in advance for any replys.
Dnepr Dave
That's normal. The hinge has, by necessity, very little insulation. It wouldn't bend otherwise. Dave
Hot Spring Official
Hey Loosemoose, Dnepr Dave is correct; this is normal. The reason it is melting there is due to the normal cover design. We do offer a hinge seal kit (part# 74053) that you can order from the dealer. This would attach to both "shoes" of the cover (3-4 inch pieces on either side) at the hinge, and connect them to create a solid piece from end to end that would add additional insulation. Thanks, Steve ---Hot Spring Spas---
Loopcity
Surprising that Hot Spring doesn't use full length hinge seal standard. It's a simple and inexpensive upgrade that a lot of manufacturers include.
Roger
I'm not surprised. You'd think they would though. There's enough Hot Springs guys around. Is it part of the country specific or didn't make the cost savings cut?
