jscribn1
I'm at a crossroads and it's time to upgrade to a VS pump. I was at my local Leslie's and the salesperson was really talking up the Eco Star. She said it's more efficient than the Pentair. All my equipment now is Pentair but she said it will be compatable with my system. Does anyone have any real advice they would be willing to share before I drop this much money? Any and all suggestions are appreciated. Thanks in advance for your comments.
brianthepoolman
I sell the pentair VS pump to my customers, it has been around longer than the eco-star and is back well by the company. Good luck with your decisions.

TomTom
For whatever it is worth to you, I would rather have the same type equipment for everything. You would not put a Pontiac motor in a Ford.
iveywk
Mixing brands is fine. Hayward makes good stuff, I happen to run a Pentair shop and its also fine. The decision your struggling with is like choosing a Ford or a Chevy. Both companies understand what your looking for, and make quality stuff. bobdett
One year old inground... everything is Hayward except Pentair Intelliflo VS. Happy so far but just started having issues with pump. Believe it to be electrical and waiting for qualified electrician. Pentair overnighted a new driver (electronics for controlling motor speeds, etc) so happy with company's response. Plus without additional components I can't connect my pump to my Hayward automation system which you may find if you go with a non-Pentair pump. Good luck.
