bobsp
Hi, I have had water leaking for sometime. I have recently used fix a leak. Whilst I can not see a pool of water undel the hot tub anymore, i can now see dripping coming from where the 2" gate valve for pump 1, joins the pipe. It seems the blue pipe cement is giving slightly. Whats the best way to fix this? I do think I might have a leak somewhere else as I have lost 1" in about 2 weeks..... Thanks in advance.. countspacula
one inch in 2 weeks is not much at all of a leak. if its dripping at the valve, buy a new valve, male union, coupler, and a piece of pipe and cut it out and re make it. bobsp
Is there nothing else I can do rather than curring the old one out. Its not that easy to get to. I was hoping to be able to plastic weld the existing one...
countspacula
not with long term success. cut it out and be done with it.
bobsp
I think thats what I will do. I will take out the gate valve though.
countspacula
the valve is valueable when service of the pump is needed, with it, you can leave the tub full of water, without it, you will have to drain the tub first
bobsp
I will take it out, they are problematic. I will get the pump serviced next week, and just drain the tub there after.
