drewskie
I am thinking of selling my current tub, which is a large six seater, for a smaller 3 or 4 person one, and I am looking specifically for a new model, mid- 2000's. It seems that many of the tubs I am looking at say the bottom is all plastic, or all sealed, which i am guessing means that it is like a large round plastic "tub" on the bottom. I like that idea, except since hot tubs leak over time, how would it be possible to repair a leak in one of these tubs Does the bottom part detach, would you need to repair it from the sides? Thanks. PreservedSwine
Always from the sides, assuming the sides are fully accessible.
drewskie
That's pretty much what I was thinking, but I mean if the leak is in the foot jets or something like that, does the bottom part come off?
PreservedSwine
That's pretty much what I was thinking, but I mean if the leak is in the foot jets or something like that, does the bottom part come off? Depends of the spa. Sometimes, instead of removing the bottom, it's easier to remove the shell from the cabinet. If the bottom is merely held in place with staples, we'd remove the bottom. Spa_Guru
I am doing a freeze damage repair in my shop right now, there is a 20 port manifold that is cracked, and it was impossible to reach from the side, the manufacturer had a stapled bottom in place, and so I tipped it on its side and peeled off the bottom with a flat bar. How does one go about repairing the manifold? Are you using a bonding agent? I have to same problem, doesn't look like I can find a replacement.
