Bluestone Coping And Patio

Bluestone does get too hot. It's not a good choice.

I suggest a crab orchard flagstone like shown here in the bottom picture for the deck. It is a type of sandstone. I prefer a smoother cut stone vs. a rougher hewn stone. I also like the stone cut into smooth rectangles instead of irregular patterns.

I recommend having a concrete base poured to give the stones something solid to be mortared to. I also recommend grouting between the stones, not just using sand. I would use 2-inch thick pavers for extra strength.

Limestone makes a good coping. However, I have to advise caution about using a salt water chlorine generator with limestone as the higher salt content of the water might cause damage to the limestone.

I will be using salt generator. Im also considering the concrete with the colored stones
