Polaris Revisited

Recommended Posts

As my Polaris 380 is wearing out and I was interested to learn the 280 is much. much cheaper at the sale price of $432 and furthermore in spite of its vintage gets better Amazon rating than any of its followers such as 360, 380, and 3900

However the 165 is even less at $280 and having fewer moving parts so significantly less maintenance I'm wondering if any Polaris-using participants have tried this model and how do you like it, especially if you're able to compare it with some of the others

Do not feed the troll. This person does not want advice, They just want attention and will not listen to anything you have to say.

Read this. (If you wonder why keep checking out the links)

There are many more examples.

Do not feed the troll.

(what about the theads on the Polaris you had at TFP and the posts on amazon and a few other boards? Didn't they want to play with you anymore?)

(the 165 is made for fiberglass and vinyl pools and does not climb the walls or clean them. It does not require a booster pump but connects to one of the returns (which is a pressure line and not a suction line as you said in a different forum.) The 360 also does not use a booster pump and connects to either a return or a dedicated suction line plumbed from the pump with no booster.. All the other polaris models require the use of a booster pump and a dedicated suction line, except for the ATV which is a suction side cleaner. Whether the 280 would be a good replacement for a 380 depends on the dirt load in the pool. Generally the 280 is a more dependable model but it does not handle heavier dirt loads as well. The 360 and 380 are basically the same except that one requires the boooter pump and cleans a bit better because of that. There is also a model 480 you neglected. Perhaps you should visit the Polaris website and learn a bit about the different models first. It might allow you to ask the proper questions instead of the ones you normally do.)

dale, care to explain why you seem so unliked in this forum?

Thank you bear for that rundown. Other Polaris users may find it valuable also as the descriptions in Amazon are not so explicit

However the descriptions on the Polaris website are and if you weren't so lazy you would have looked at them yourself.

"dale, care to explain why you seem so unliked in this forum? "

No thanks

didn't think so. Since you didn't include the link that I posted the forum was Wordsmith.org, where you claimed to be a terrible person. Seems you were not a favorite on there either. I did notice that you referred to yourself as a troll back in 2008 on one of the boards you terrorized and seemed proud of it. For someone so into words and a failed author you should know that troll is a derogatory term. Why are you proud of being referred to with a derogatory term. Perhaps any attention is better than no attention in your sorry life.

You really need to get a life and become a human.
