Know what can be the potential cause of problems, understand how their pool works and know what things do what job (ie, know what/where your filter is and how it works, same for pump etc). Each time something happens, learn all you can about the symptoms, the potential fixes and what actually fixed it..... That would make my job a lot easier, if not eliminating it!
