mrich912
I have what I believe is a 1989 Sundance Cabaret hot tub. When I inherited the tub, it had no control panel. I wired the motor directly to test and it runs just fine. Once I knew that, I purchased a new controller, model Balboa 50796. I plugged in the controller and nothing. I do have the 2 power lights on the controls box and 220 coming in. I don't think the timer is working and oddly enough, when I push the GFCI test button, the lights go off but it doesn't trip where you have to use the reset button. I have changed the GFCI and get the same results. I seem to have power to the circuit board but cannot tell if there is power coming out. Any ideas on how to test the board itself? I would think the timer would work without the control panel but I could be wrong. The transformer is also working and the fuse on the board test OK. I'm stumped at the moment...any suggestions?? I can post a pic or two if I can figure out how!!
tub_repair_guy
is this a NEW control or a new used control?
Spa God
I think based on the fact it has a built in GFCI (did I understand correctly) then it is an older used or refurbished model... something is screwy.... The first issue is the GFCI looks like it is wired incorrectly... get over that hurdle and we can evaluate again and take the next step.
