  1. warm water + bacteria= Its just a matter of time. He will get sick.
  2. WOW... talk about drama. This is better than evening cable tv! Keep it up guys, I am having a great laff!
  3. is this a NEW control or a new used control?
  4. lol Call Girl! Thats my laff for the day - thanks! Check out Bullfrog and Beachcomber- both are very good quality tubs. Bullfrog seems a little hokey at first with the interchangeable jet paks, but considering your husbands spinal condition that may be a benefit, to be able to change the jet configurations as his needs change. They have a great track record and a great warranty. Ya you are right, for some people, passions do run deep. You will just have to do a little homework and find whats best for you. God Bless & good luck.
  5. lol- a shotgun? That is a problem- they are persistant. Even if you cover the pool they will sit on the cover and make a mess of that. I have heard of some people getting a motion sensor that attaches to the hose and sprays water when activated. Or, try an owl decoy or something similar sitting on the corner of the house or shed that can be easily seen by them.
  6. I suggest that you take advantage of that small window of opportunity and return it. The roving spa sales people often buy factory seconds at a reduced rate, thats how they can sell them cheaper. Your local dealer will probably not service it if you did not buy from him, so this may not be as good a deal as you think. I suggest that you spend a few extra $$ and buy from a reputable dealer that will support the product that they sell.
  7. I came across something similar once before- it was a one way air intake valve. When you open the air, the water pressure draws air into the jets thru a small tube that runs under the tub somewhere, and hopefully terminates at the front of the tub in the equipment area. In my case, it had a small round 1 way air valve that consisted of a small tube with a plastic flap that allowed air in but not back out. That small plastic flap vibrated when air passed thru it, making a strange noise similar to what you are describing. I simply cut out the valve and replaced it with a new one. Your problem may be different, but maybe this will send you in the right direction.
  8. The only thing I can come up with is that something is impeding the flow of water. As suggested above, maybe algae? Maybe a partial blockage in a return line? Air in the pump? Check the impellor for debris? Weak pump motor? Bad gasket in the filter head? Try operating the filter on recirculate ( bypass the sand and run the water directly from the pump back into the pool) for an hour or 2 and see if the symptom persists. What does the pressure gauge read when you start vs after running for an hour?
  9. What do you mean the plumbing is disconnected? has all the plumbing been removed from the tub? or is the pump(s) simply disconnected and you are confused as to how they reconnect?
  10. Pacific Spas, the Canadian manufacturer ( also known as Aber Manufacturing) is gone- bankrupt about 2 yrs ago. we were a dealer for them, and as far as I know, that model# was not one of theirs.
  11. I am assuming from what you said that you still have the old board, and it still works? If you have the pin settings identical on the new board as the old board, that new board may not be configured for 2 speed pumps. If the old board still works, why not just put it back in?
  12. It has been my experience that a GFCI plugged into a GFCI has the potential for problems. Many tub manufacturers will recommend that you do not do this.
  13. Not being familiar with that system, I am going to go out on a limb and say yes you are correct. Typically, the circ pump is told to run when there is a call for heat. When the circ pump starts and creates some water pressure, a flow switch or pressure switch will trip and turn on the heater. The other function of the circ pump is, of course, filtration. It will also run to accomplish filtration cycles. Your spa may have adjustable filtration cycles that will cause the circ pump to run longer or shorter, or start and stop more often.
