Sand Filter Issue

Hi all. I have an above ground pool with a Hayward S230T sand filter. I was having an issue after opening the pool up about 2 weeks ago with the only setting on the Vari Flow valve that was working properly being Recirculate. When set to Filter I was getting a steady stream of water out the hose connection for backwashing the filter. Obviously this shouldn't happen when trying to Filter the water. I tried to backwash the filter but was getting no water flow through the line. I assumed there was something wrong with the valve, and upon inspection I noticed that the spring was rusted and corroding. I ordered an entire new Vari Flow valve, removed and replaced all the sand in the filter, and installed the new valve. The filter was working fine for the first 24-30 hours after installing the new control valve. Now the same thing is happening again. When set to Filter I am getting water out the hose connection for backwashing. Can someone please provide me some insight on how to correct this issue. Again, all seemed well after installing the new valve, but it's happening again. Thanks.
