Paul Brun
Obviously, when installing a hot-tub, your energy use will go up. I am wondering if anyone has a rough idea on how to calculate your usage depending on your spa? I have a 7' Arctic Spa (Cub model) layout with a 50amp breaker. Is there a document highlighting energy use at various ambient temperatures based on spa temperatures? James??? Paul
salp
I can give you a start.... here is an electricity calculator... if you know your peak wattage on some of the equipment, go from there... obviously this is not exact, but expect a $20 to $30 per month increase in the cold winters... not much in the summer. http://www.super-grow.biz/Electricity.jsp you can plug in 5500 watts for the heater, at about 1hr per day... at about 8cents kwh (this varies by region).... about $13/month on your heater (not including pump motors, etc.)
