  1. Best bet too is to see what some of the service techs say here.... of course buy what feels best (if you can test the ones you want) but if a service tech says one is better than the other, he may have some info to back that up...... but at least you are researching first..... good job! Happy future tubbin'!
  2. JimKW is right... hsouwl take about 7 to 8 hrs to heat up. You say you bought it 2nd hand... and by the time its taking it may be your heater that is either a) not getting the signal to heat, or your heater needs to be replaced. There are a few people on this board that can help you with the details and how to check... they should chime in pretty soon here......
  3. IF you really need something... try looking in to DYnamat.... but I think your neighbors are full of sh**.
  4. selling power back to the grid!??.... bwahahahahahahaaaaa
  5. Welcome to the tubbin world... Have fun and 2 when possible! Cheers

  7. Sorry to bring back an old post, but I just wanted to touch base on this... So far through this winter, this is what I have noticed... 1 side of the cover stays puffed out all the time, and it has a layer of ice under the snow.... the other half of the cover is fine... never puffs out and there is no ice under the snow. t I want some advice/info from anyone is possible... is there something i should look for.... thank you. update: i unzipped the cover and i dont see any rips in the foil or anything like that... i wonder if thing was sealed with air already in it....
  8. Is that in $US?. THat seems to be a decent price. I bought an Ultra with stairs and lifter for just over $9 canadian.... I love my Yukon as well, the multi level seating is nice. I opted for no Onzen as well.... glad I did, there are a few things they are fixing up on that system.
  9. You know what, you are right. I am handy myself, so I don't mind fixing something myself.. .however, the techs that came out for under warranty service calls were brutal. I literally would rather have no one come out and and get my dog to help me... he at least knows what I mean when I say 'Robinson'.. he gives me the red screwdriver! Good boy!
  10. If anyone wants to know how economical somethign is before they buy it...don't buy it. Get a tub, have fun, drink 2 when possible! Cheers
  11. 8 gallons a week seems high.... are you sure its that much? I would put in a service call if its that much.....
  12. service. I have a tub with "quick" service but "poor" quality of service.... so i guess i would want best tub best service and all that jazz!
  13. I used BBB for complaints on my home builder... and lets just say, jsut like the warrany, they are there for the builder. BBB is useless, IMO.
  14. IMO, if I had a 25 year hot tub with no problems, I personally would go back to the same brand. It must have made you happy for that long, no sense in going somehwre else, than saying "wish I stuck with xxx". Good luck in your searching though, take care!
  15. I agree about the customer service... ilove my arctic, but if I wasn't a 'handy' individual, I would be at a loss.... the store here doesnt produce the best maintenance pepople...
  16. As for air jets (blower)... can those be changed... or are those permanent.. i would like to put something that has mutiple smaller holes, vs the ones that are on the tub.. just a strait 1/4" or so hole. Also, does anyone know who makes the ejts in the arctics? watereway? rising dragon? i want to see a schematic of one.....
  17. How any advertising could convince anyone how air (the absolute worst insulator in the world) could do any insulating is behond me. It is a misconception... air is the best insulator if it is a vaccuum state.
  18. All spa manufacturers have their pros and cons.. just like everything else... and D is right... for the record, I was deciding b/w beachcomber and arctic and we chose arctic.... wet test do wonders... but my sister went with the beachcomber...
  19. You can drill a hole and set it up yourself... but, IMO, I think a waterfall is useless... I ahve one on our tub and it is never on. I wouldnt go to great lengths to put one in, unles you HAVE to. All it would take are a couple of holes, hose, a valve etc....
  20. I was told of a recall of the sentineels as well... they just took a layer off and sold hte rest in the store.... who knows what the heck goes on.... All i know is you can buy a bunch from Rising Dragon... but the minimum order is 10,000 units!
  21. Thanks guys. Have a good day. Keep tubbin......
  22. Robe -> Walmart. (They have terry cloth ones) Shoes -> Garden shoes (Gator/Crocs) That's what we use....
