Empty Tub.... How To Clean Jets?

I just got a free tub (woo hoo) but it has been sitting for quite some time and it looks like there is quite a bit of sand/dirt in the jet holes, also in the shell. I am wondering how to get the dirt out if the jets. I do not want to hose it, because it will go back inside the jet, if I fill the tub to run the jets, the same thing will happen. How do I go about cleaning it out? Thanks again.

How about a vacuum. ShopVac should work.

Then fill it and run swirl away through it to clean the gross stuff stuck in the lines
