Newbie here....some friend of mine gave me an 8 x 8 ft hot tub just to take it out of his yard. The what was one time the frame was rotting away, so I decided to trash all the wood and build a new one. No where on line can I find anything close to diagrams or prints of this. It's like it was tabu...only found in dark coners of the world. Can anyone suggest where I can obtain information on this build? or did I just put a PINK elephant in my garage? Please help!!!!

I'm guessing you should probably determine the brand, model, and year of the spa first. Might help you with getting any assistance with diagrams of anything in relation to your particular hot tub.

Generally speaking though, I doubt you'll find detailed diagrams showing you exactly how to rebuild the frame of the spa itself. That's not something that's really done much in my experience.

My new neighbour doesn't know it yet but he has a rotting frame to his 8 year old hot tub too .. I'm not getting involved because I want to stay out of it as the previous owner knew about it.

Is there anything he can do once he discovers it though?

On YouTube, there are some Cal spa videos of the manufacturing process that show the frame exposed. It looks fairly basic. No dimensions, but based on what I saw, you could easily recreate one. Remember to use pressure treated lumber though, and look into adding a bottom plate to reduce/stop moisture leaching up through the bottom.
