grunt66
Well after many months of looking at various hot tubs my wife and I have decided to go with the J-480. The other tub we were looking at was the Hot Springs Vista. We wet tested both tubs on Saturday and the J-480 came out on top. I am 5'10" tall and I had a difficult time staying in the lounger of the Vista. I have lower back problems (L5 and S1) and when I positioned my back so that I could take advantage of the motto massage my feet were approximately six inches above the foot jets on the Vista. Sitting in the J-480 everything was just right and comfortable and the jets on J-480 were great. My wife could not even use the lounger of the Vista but could use the lounger in the J-480 with no issues. I really wanted the Vista to win over the J-480 but the proof was in the wet testing of both spas. Hot Springs makes a great hot tub and I wanted the Vista to win over the J-480. Now I have to wait 3 weeks to have it delivered. Now I can inform the electrician that I am going with a Jacuzzi over the Hot Springs since the wiring is different. I was surprised that I have to have my electrician present to hook the wires to the hot tub once it is delivered. Looking at the wiring for the J-480 it appears that only three wires need to be connected. We ordered the chestnut brown cabinet with dessert brown shell, Ionic/Ozone, Audio system , hydraulic cover lift, brown steps, and chestnut brown cover. The price for the spa was $10,427. Wannago
I just bought a J-480. The tub does take 3 wires, 2 hots (red & black) and a ground (green). If your in Canada, the ground is the bare copper.
