DjPiLL
Probably going to be doing a water change right after Super Bowl. Looking to buy a submergeable pump to drain tub a lot quicker in the frozen winter. Last water change in September took 5 hours to drain Marquis Epic. Thanks in advance. Dnepr Dave
I got one like this at my local Harbor Freight. It'll suck it right down. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/disp...temnumber=45014 Dave
squidly
This is the one I have http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/wcs/sto...ct_6970_792_792 It drains 350 gallons in about 40 minutes. Funny that it says 1320 GPH. Maybe it's less with a hot tub because it has to pump the water up and over the side?
Pool Clown
Here's my favorite, I think it takes 5 or 10 min to pump mine out. http://www.poolsaz.com/ProductDetails.asp?...10B&click=

I got mine at Home Depot for about $60. It works fine!
DjPiLL
Hey guys. Thanks for the recommendations. I don't want to spend a fortune, around $50 will do the job. One question though. I read here that somebody was upset that his submergeable pump was scratching the bottom of his hot tub. Is there any way to avoid this? Do any of these pumps recommended scratch the bottom? Thanks. Dnepr Dave
If the bottom of the pump is plastic, it won't scratch the bottom of your tub. Dave
bizdoc
I have been using a 1/3 hp submersible pump from True Value. For over 15 years, it has emptied the 250 gallon spa in about 5 minutes. Here is somethig similar on Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/Superior-Pump-91330-...e/dp/B000X07GQS. A good pump is something worth having around the house, so buying something mid-size is a bit of an insurance policy. A 1/3 hp pump moves a good bit of H2O

Is that why you later note this will not scratch the tub?

Is that why you later note this will not scratch the tub? Yeah, I just set it in the bottom of the tub and plug it in. It has a float switch on it, so I tie it in the vertical position so it will pump until it looses suction. There is less than an inch of water left when it looses suction. I just filled it up after that. If I wanted to get all the water out, I'd use a wet/dry vac. Dave
