Winter Use/heating

Recommended Posts

Do you all that live in cold climates with your tubs outside do anything special to help keep the heating cost of the tub down? I have a nice thick cover from Cal Spas that came with the tub, but wondering if in the dead of winter one of those covers that look like car covers would help a little? or that foam cover that is floated on the water? I'm in NE PA on top of a mtn, near the edge where there is a big change in alt. and We usually get some interesting weather the first few miles in from the edge.. sub zero is not uncommon here,, hit -9 a few nights in a row and once -13,, The digital display in my truck wouldn't work. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Steve

Buy a new truck.

Sorry, just had to say that! :P

I really would like to help. I am still shopping for a spa and trying to avoid high heat bills too. Do you have a great cover or the standard 2"? May pay to get best cover you can. Also is wind a factor, wind blocking fence or plants may reduce heat loss after all moving air is one of the best heat removing methods. Just look how they cool a car engine or the computer on your desk.
