  1. is it actually coming from the manifold or at the ends heater unions with a gasket that is failing,,, might be something simple
  2. I would look at the Sundance, Hot Springs or Limelight before i would look at the Master Spas personally as well....
  3. getnold you must be talking about the Clearwater spas, the St. Andrew changed in Sept. they used to have 58 jets and 3 - 5 h.p pumps on the signature model, since Sept. they came with 2 6h.p pumps, and still uses the same circ pump....they actually redisigned this model in September. If you look at the old brochure the seating on the captains chairs changed,
  4. When you add the Genesis sytem to the spas it does not use the ozone with it, the System does not use both... Also on the the difference off the D1 Ultrapure system, the ozone is not just an add on item were the contact chamber loops in the pump compartment then straight shot into the tub,,short cycle, the D1 system has 3 contact chambers also off gases in the chambers, so it will not breakdown the pillows and the bottom of the cover as fast. it was designed with the 24/7 low amp circ pump, with the use of the Vision mineral cartridge will kill more bacteria thus dropping the amount of chemicals you use... On the Clearwaters i sell i talk people out of the Genesis....But i really like the way the D1 system ( Ultrapure ) works...
  5. same thing i checked with different Ips as well, Glad to see we are up and running again.....
  6. you know there have been some really good facts and thoughts in this thread, there were some jabs, but we will always have that, But the statement that facts were wrong so you had to set it straight, i looked back through really did not see anything that Artic was getting slammed, but it is good to see you back them up, But it just seems funny that when a statement was made you came back and said that the 2011 spa will have that and so it makes it better,But you guys have stated they were the best in 2010 , but with the changes happening like on the circ pump does not make sense unless you guys were losing sales to it....I myself have not slammed your brand or really any other , i have stated facts, and my opinions,,, the problem i have is the guys with agendas, were they sell the best and have not even been around other brands but its the best.... i think a few weeks ago there was i guy that showed up and slammed the heck out of me, i came back with the facts, and he disappeared,,, This site is great i have said that before, i have been a member since 2007 , i wish i would have started respodeing back then, but i do not try to answer every thread only what i know to help,,, that is what this site is about ....to help the consumer....I am not on here to promote my business, i like this industry and try to help out....i sell against Arctic every day a matter of fact i compete against 30 different brands of spas with over 15 dealers of spa represented in a area less than 100 miles in the northwest,,,,and not in a big city on the coast,,, i see a hell of a lot of brochures ....I just got done with a home show with 6 dealerships and one of them was not the Artic delaer who normally does all the shows.....
  7. your right it is not new if you read the thread i said started it in 1988, Yes Hot Springs, Sundance, Jacuzzi, etc, has now had it, just different ways to do it...
  8. on the reason i like the D1 system better, with the use of the lowamp 24/7 circulation pump the Ultrapure water management system is designed with the ozone , not an add on either in the filed or in the factory. They actually were the first manufacturer in the industry to install a factory installed ozone purification system in a spa in 1988, so they have had a while to make it better., they also i believe had the first UL approved ozone while users occupy the spa, It mixes the ozone gas and waterin these seperate chambers which means longer contact time. with 100% persent of thcontinous filtereing, this with the use of the vision mineral cartdidge kills 99 % off the bacteria equaling lower chemical usage, i can also go at least 6 months between drainings and fillings, also with the ozone not offgasing into the main body of water the ozone is still working when you need it the most. when you are in the tub, also by not off gasing into the main body of water it will not prematurely take out the headrests , the cover,,,,, and yes the Clearwater Monaco has the 24/7 circulation to, but the contact chamber is not as long, still does a good job filtereing the water,,, Price wise, i gave a ball park pricing, again each area sell at different price ranges, i am not going to throw a price and be low and force a dealers hand on a price,,,,,so that is close ballpark....
  9. Roger, I think you are on to something here, Your right how would they be able to claim waste heat of the jet pumps,,and i noticed that in the heading "Now were getting serious about ozone" so by going to this system does it mean the other way at running the main pump every 12 hours for 2 ( were you can bump that up) was not the right system???? D1 has used the Ozone for years , also using both the 24/7 circ pump system on the higher end and and option on the @ home series to differentiate, so i don't understand why if Arctic is a big believer in the pump system being the best. Why the change? it makes you question that does n't it....
  10. Waterboy I have a droid,,, your right with the future heading with the smartphones and i pads, but for it to operate my spa not gonna happen,, on the service side we don't use the smartphones for service, service calls i have been on i do not need to fix the spa and to see what is going on,, about 10 years ago MArquis came out with using cell phones as a monitor with Balboa, to send info to your computer to give the history on what the spa was going, it was a great concept,,, we never used it......
  11. On the jets missing in areas, thats to bas to hear, remember i do sell both brands, but the biggest thing you can only sit in one seat at a time..If you have a spa with a great water management system you do not use a lot of chemicals . But i have seen failures of the salt generator, was not worth the headaches for us. Your right the generator is not harsh on the skin, On my own personal tub with the ozone, the mineral purifier i use less than 1 ppm so i do not get the dry itchy skin and i do not smell like a chlorine factory...prices are going to be different in all areas i can say roughly 12,500 for the price, thats were i believe you get a better value in the D1, especially looking at the Amore Bay right in the same line of pricing, BUt also on the foot cramping, the D1 uses the tactile therapy in the spa as well, for hitting pressure points on the bottom of the feet through the nodules on the floor of the spa....
  12. i sell both the Clearwater and The D1, I sell more D1's than i do the Clearwater, We have not seen many issues with the Clearwater, seem to be a decent tub, are they better than a D1 i don"t think so, I think D1 has a better filtration system, and designs are better, Comfort both good, I think again D1s over the whole lineup does a better job, Both have great warranties. The BBB thing i take with a grain of salt,,, we had a stove stop in our neck of the woods that the BBB was revoked, 3 months later they are on their as a non accredited company and now have a b+ rating,,,and was a F and revoked,,,something not right wouldn't you agree.
  13. on the theory of being able to check on your spa anywere regardless of the brand i think IMO is one of the dumbest things for a spa, I am not married to a spa, even my own, its the last thing i want to think about wether i am gone for 3 days or 2 weeks, if all of these spas are that good and are energy efficient , why woould you need that,,,, does not make sense to me personally, so if brand x and brand y are that good as stated then why the need? if i was a customer and was going to base a decision to buy a tub knowing i could monitor from somewhere else. i should not be looking at buying a hot tub, I can see this technology for a house on alarms, heating, but on a spa come on!!!!!!!!!!
  14. waterboy, i have a question for you. why is Arctic introducing a 24/7 low amp circ pump, i keep seeing and hearing they are the best the way they are... on another note we all have our favs. as long as we give facts that can back up our each individaul claims then no problem, its the guys on here that go to far with claims they cannot back up, I think Arctic is a good brand just like the D1, Sundance , Hot Springs, Jacuzzi, MArquis, Clearwater,,,, but some of the tactics are way off, if i remember we see a lot of guys(not waterboy) that show spout their b.s then you respond then they disapear...thats the problem i have.....
  15. Leisure Concepts Covermate Easy and the D1 Easy lifter are basically the same thing i use both of them, I sell D1 spas, and i have Leisure Concepts in my backyard
  16. syrallas, I am at a dealership in Washington that we sel D1, most manufacturers do not make their own covers, Like D1 orders their from Sunstar and is a great cover,,,The dealer in SYracuse probably uses a local cover manufacturer to get their covers made. BUt you should be ale to order from them through Dennis at D1,, Dennis will help you out.....
  17. I would check to see if you have it set to FC mode like KREG mentioned, I do not belive hat spa came with a low amp 24/7 circ pump,,,sometimes the easiest way to reset it to reset your breaker.....
  18. maybe the pump fuse in the board . you might check that first, have you touched the motor is it hot?, the leak!!! how are the seals at the heater unions, check valve for you ozone did it fail?
  19. Have you contacted you local Hot Springs dealership? Ask them if they have seen this problem. Answer will be yes and they probably tell what you nee to do, Use the dealership they will help you
  20. These two brands are very good, The Hot Springs umbrella of tubs. Jacuzzi and Sundance which are the same company..They are gonna give you great spas low cost operation and great backing,
  21. I sell both the D1 and the Clearwater , the table is kind of hokey,,, not a fan of the salt generators, depending on were you are at the energy efficiency is pretty good, I am suprised that the Clearwater Monaco had better features then the D1 for the same price range, I sell more D1 spas in that price range than i do the Clearwater. i think the filtration system is better on the D1 than the Monaco.Which D1 did you try out?
  22. Spa Brokers are a great company, Glad to see the D1 high on your list.. I have sold Marquis it is a great spa, I am not a fan of the Spa Frog bromine system, when the spa runs for 2 hours every 12 then sits idle, the chamber were the frog is fills with water thus diluting the powdered bromine, So when the filter cycle kicks on or you get in the spa and turns on the jets you get a high concentration of bromine, it is a nice concept, but a lot of bromine gets pushed into the spa high ppms to make up for the bather load, and if you use the spa every day, $$$$$$ for the replacement bromine cartridges, every 2 weeks, not counting your shock and balancers. also not having a floating skimmer, using the the vortex fins for the filter, so the water passing thru creates a vortex for full use of the filter, whats funny is water being pulled through the filter will already be creating a vortex, just like flushing a toilet or running the tap water down the drain.,But the Marquis is a nice tub. i sold a lot of them in the late 90s early 2000's , I do like the water management system in the D1, no off gasing of the ozone, goes through 3 chambers for longer contact in the water...But enjoy you spa and again the Spa Brokers is a good company. as for the BBB rating it is a nice resource, but something we found out this weekend at our home show area up in my neck of the woods. We had the BBB come by the booth, we are a A+ rated company, we were asking about a company we compete with on a different product category that recently had their membership revoked , they also we dropped down to F- , now 4 weeks later they show back up on the list with a B+ rating, with no membership, did not make sense , they said yes that a company who gets revoked can still be rated as a non credited business and that the prior ratings basicly disapear.... isn't that great,,, so what good is a membership with a high rating at that point.. so imo just as most things you have to take with a grain of salt...
  23. it seems like a reasonable price but i would opt not to get the stereo, seen to many fail...you can do better with the $$$
