  1. Hi! I have a HS Jetsetter and it was the best money I think I ever spent! One thing to definitly do, is call the local dealer where the person purchased the tub. Tell them your considering buying a used tub from Mr & Mrs ..... and wanted to know if any work has ever been done on the hot tub or any inquiries made by the owners to fix anything. I know a lot of people out there are selling their new tubs because of the economy so there are some screaming deals out there! and $2,500 for a 2005 jetsetter is amazing! Let us know how things work out!
  2. About 500 bucks if there is no water in it and it's not running. If there is water in it that's a different story. Tubs don't hold there value very well and that one won't have any warranty. A couple grand for sure but could be more. The tub is filled and running with a new cover and chemicals. The guy is also going to deliver the tub too, I just have to help load and unload. Well the lowest price I saw online for a 2001 Jetsetter (smaller tub) was $1600, so I would say around $3500-$4000
  3. It looks like one of your check valves became loose. If the water is coming from the equipment bay, you don't have anything to worry about it just looks like something got loose. You should call your nearest dealer service center for more help. Best Wishes!
  4. Wrong filter and a problem in the first 5 days and you consider it of excellent quality???? I guess some of us have higher standards. Hilarous!
  5. What was your quote from Hot Spring?? Was it that much too?
  6. I would buy a used hot tub on cl that was just bought over a year or two ago for 10k you could probobly get it for around 5k. You can also call the local dealer to see if any work has ever been done, and history of tub. Just a suggestion. Best Wishes
  7. Wow... this is discouraging. I too clicked on the Add to cart button on that infamous night of 8/2 and now I am kind of worried about what I am going to get here. Problem for me is that the tub is going to be "integrated" in a deck that is being built. I better run it at first for a little while to see if all is ok. The good news is that the only feature I wanted seems to be available: That comforts me! Anybody received this tub without defects??? Hey B! I know decks can be really pricey, I don't think it is a smart thing to do, having a tub prone to problems recessed in a deck. If you were trying to save some money by buying that brand okay, but this kind of tub should be placed on a deck so when you do have problems they can be easily accessible so that you are able to fix them. Happy tubbing!
  8. Hi! I have a jetsetter from hot spring and it is great! My friend has a prodigy and it is perfect for a couple and can have room for another. I actually fit another couple in my tub it was real tight, but its smaller than the prodigy! Also about the inner control panel, that was an issue on the 06-07 models which has since been fixed so there is nothing to worry about there. They are both great spas! My tub is 7 years old and working perfect and my neighbor/friend who has the prodigy has an 06 and hasn't had any problems but the inner control panel which was promtly replaced. Whatever you decide to pick, you will have a hot tub and that is a great thing!
  9. you can google hot springs spa manuals. Also you can go to www.olympichottub.com and go to the owners corner and download it from there. As far as the age, I would call the closest dealer to you and give them the info of your spa. You will want to be in the system to document all the history of your spa and they should be able to tell you the year and all the work that has ever been done on it. Congratulations!
  10. Awsome! Congragulations on the purchase, you will enjoy it for years to come!
  11. Awsome you purchased a hot tub! Welcome to the family=) So how much did you end up paying after the tub? As far as sub panel, additional move to back yard, chemicals, cover lifter, step, your electrical bill and so on? I just would like to know the overall cost?
  12. I get it.... you are trying to sway this guys decision because he doesen't parrot your opinions. I assume now you are going to insult him by telling him he doesen't know what he is talkng about. You don't have any spas for that price point vs. the features and quality otherwise people wouldnt bother with Costco.... I think the spa He is getting is a great spa for the price and I assume He looked a tHis local fleecer...er..... dealer and know exactly what He is getting for His money. I hope you enjoy your spa as its been two years without one glitch for my Costco purchase nor any high bills or end of the world stories as people on this forum elude to if you don't buy a dealer spa. Thanks soakerman. I think that you are right; I did not pay a dealer for thr overhead of a sales commission, rent for a showroom and electricity to run 10 tubs. I feel that the tub that I purchased is probably the same spa you can buy in any one of the higher end dealers without the overhead. The tub is high quality and works as described. I have not had to contact the manufacturer for any problems yet, but if I do I know I have the backing of Costco who will take the spa back if I am dissatisfied. Amazing simply amazing do you think Costco has no over heard that the hundreds of employees at thier stores are volunteers ? that the huge 100,000 plus sq ft building are rent free. It is also a false statement regarding the savings, I have spas that have all the features you speak of for less than 7000.00 if you and soaker want to some how convince yourselves that you saved 3 grand you are most welcome to do so, just as you are welcome to believe in Santa, the tooth fairy and moose goose. But in the real world you can buy Marquis, HS, Jacuzzi and many others for 7 grand and less. Why this is so difficult for you both to accept is simply strange. Your Right!
  13. I would be concerned if the motor is heating the hot tub. Isn't that like a car motor over heating? It doesn't make sense how that could be a safe thing to do.
  14. I guess I should of rephrased my wording on the foam on the shell. The main reason for a certain amount of foam is to hold in vessel heat during non run times. 16-20 hours a day. If you circulate 24/7 and generate the heat that creates the R-Value great. But if you rely on pump motor heat for r-value and your pump is set to only run during the 4-6-8 hours of filtration. Then the majority of the day the pump is NOT generating any heat so...reduced r-value......blah-blah-blah, we've all heard it before and it is just a different perspective on holding heat in to reduce heater run time versus...well never mind....LOL Check this website it has reviews from artic owners http://www.rhtubs.com/cgi-bin/reviews/reviews.pl
  15. I have a 7 year old Jetsetter, works great! Very quiet and its real easy for me to take care of.
  16. Where are you located? Nevermind.... I see you're in Ventura. I might have to come take a look. I sat in the flair today and it actually seemed to fit me relatively nice- its just a hair to big at 7x7. I'm 6'7" and I am having trouble finding a spa I can fit in and also fit in the space I need it to fit in (on a deck). The Glow looks like it might work although I see that it is only 33" deep as opposed to the Flair which is 36". Since you have these in your store would you be able to tell me if the seating in the Glow might fit me even though it is only 33" deep. If all else fails I'm going to have to go with the Sorrento.... I fit and the size is right. Thanks so much! Hi! Almost all hot springs spas are made to where the water lever should sit around your collar bone. The glow is a shorter spa, but the seats are closer to the ground making in the same depth as the flair. I think that statement rings true with almost all spas. I know a guy who owns a jetsetter and he is 6'3 and he said he the water line hit him around the collar bone. Hope this helps! Happy Soaking!
  17. Hot Springs has been getting a great response with the new Limelight launch. They have spent thousands of dollars and a year of researching before launching this line. This is also the first time in eight years a dealer launched a new line of spas! Jim- do you dislike all spas but your own? There are many many great dealers and spas out there and Hot Spring is definitely not the only one, but I have never heard of your brand....????....
  18. *The nations leading scientific and engineering firm, Exponent Inc., conducted rigorous third party testing which confirms Hot Spring Spas have documented operating costs which confirm that Hot Spring Spas have the lowest operating costs of any spas on the market today.
  19. Here is the manufactuter's contact info. Even if they aren't a member of bbb the manufacturer can still contact the dealer to get a resolution. You get 2 warrenties, 1 through the dealer, and a second by manufacturer. Watkins Manufacturing Corporation 1280 Park Center Drive Vista, CA. 92081 1.800.999.4688
  20. You should get in contact with the manufactuer watkins.
  21. It should say somewhere in your manuel that they don't reccomend draining during the winter. Even if you have fully drained your spa there is still 2-10 gallons of water sitting in the pipes. Which in the winter can freeze and create cracks in your pipes and thus leaks. Did they fix it yet?
  22. A cover only really has a life of 5-8 yrs. Since you got 10 years thats great! There like tires on a car you will have to replace in time.
  23. What else is included? Is this sale price or full retail? I bet that's full retail. Does it include delivery & set up, chemicals, cover, and subpanel?
