  1. Good guy he will treat you right.
  2. If it is reading the temp it is connected. Now as far as the temp not being able to be adjusted, is there a padlock symbol on the control panel. If not remove the plastic cover on the top of the panel where the light is. Behind this will be two phillips screws. Remove those and the panel will pull out. Once out remove the black plastic cap on the back side then remove the 4 phillips screws and remove the box that contains the circuit board. once that is off clean the actual control panel then reassemble everything. You should be back in business. Most of the time this will solve your problem. Failure of that control panel is slim. Hope this helps.
  3. That price on a Vanguard is more than fair with all those addons. I would take it and run. Quality wise you will not be disappointed. I just sold a used Vanguard that was 3.5 years old for 6900 and no extras. Hope this helps you.
  4. You will be happy with your choice. Also they hold their resale value very well. Like others stated keep your ph and alk balanced and 10 years from now your spa will still look new. Enjoy your new spa.
  5. Also inspect the fitting that the airline attaches to. We have seen some where the fitting gets a crack in it. This will not allow all the air to be injected to the motomassage. This will cause the motomassage to only go up about halfway.
  6. Tim Beale sells/Reps Master Spas. In fact unless things have changed he is the rep for Kreg. He has been the rep for Michigan for a long time. While his practices might not be the most ethical they do work. Kreg sells master spas out of Ann Arbor Michigan and has been selling them for awhile. Just an FYI I am not defending Tim's site at all. Just trying to help clear up some confusion. I will say Kreg is fair with his customers and does treat them right.
  7. You will need to remove the white retaining clip in the diverter body to remove the diver assy. Easy way to do this is with needle nose pliers that have a small tip. You will see two holes in the retaining clip. Put the needle nose pliers in there and close them and pull up, the retaining clip will come out. Then remove the diverter and replace it.
  8. The circulation pump should run 24 hours a day on that spa. The Tstat knob is only used for setting the temp. The higher the number the warmer the water. Due to this being a mechanical thermostat there is not a specific number that would equal a set temp. The numbers only act as a reference point. The hash marks are just a colder setting than the numbers.
  9. Do you have two breakers a 20amp and a 30amp? Also have you disconnected both power wires going to the heater?
  10. With a white pool you will still get that aqua color. However with the blue pool it will look like a deep blue. Also keep in mind a colored pool will not show dirt or staining like a white pool. I have sold and serviced both white and blue. If it was me I would do the blue hands down they just look so much better in my opinion.
  11. There is a white tage in the equipment compartment with a serial number. What are the first 3 digits. Also sometime the circ pump will scale up and stop working. If it is a round circ pump (laing or silent flo 5000) you can often take it appart and clean it. Alot of times this will solve the proplem. If the circ pump is not working then it will not heat. What year is it? Does it have the two red reset buttons on the side of the black control box? Have you tried to reset them? How old is the circ pump?....it may just be dead.
  12. One other thing I forgot to add. Your topside control is pneumatic so make sure you get a spa pack that is pneumatic. Other wise if the new pack is all electronic be sure to purchase a new topside control. Would be a bummer to order a new pack get it there and get all excited just to find out that your topside controls wont work with it.
  13. There is a company called spa parts plus. Not sure if they sell to the public or only wholesale. But for a replacement spa pack I would recomend them. If you have a problem with it you can send it to them for repairs. The service department is excellent. Also not sure where you live but if your in a cold weather state I would keep the equipment in the cabinet. As far as Nature 2 the system works great. You have to buy a special test strip and add non chlorine shock on a regular basis. I used in my old spa and loved it never had any problems. Hope this helps
  14. I have worked on both models. The Hotspring is by far a superior spa. The extra 2k your spending is well worth it. I had a Hotspring Classic at my old house. Not one problem with it the 6 years I was there. Well one problem the circulation pump (the 24 hour one). Replaced the impellor in it. Took about 30 minutes then was up and running again. The one thing to keep in mind is that alot of the parts in hotsprings are only available from a hotspring dealer, but dont let that scare you if your dealer folds there are thousands of other dealers there. The only concern you should have is warranty work. If they go out of business who will do the warranty work. Call the manufacture and find the next closest guy, call him and see if he would service it if your dealer closes.
  15. Ask the dealer to see the serial number. Hot Springs serial number indicates the year in it. This makes it is to tell
  16. I sell pools and always try to talk people out of this. Below I will list my reasons for you. I have been in the industry for 15 years and have installed, serviced and sold. Hope this will help you make your choice. 1. Anything build into the pool wall or floor is another potential for failure. 2. 99.9% of the time the warranty will only cover the part that fails. The warranty will not cover labor. When that systems fails you have a potential for a very expensive repair. 3. Look at the cost of this system and ask yourself if you can really justify spending that amount of money to have it installed. keep in mind the cost and aggervation of failures down the road or it not working to your expectation. In summary I personnally would never put a system like that on my own pool. I would invest in a automatic pool cleaner like the aquabot, tigershark or dolphin. They are one of the more expensive ones on the market but will with out a doubt perform to your satisfaction. If you skimp on the pool cleaner your going to get what you pay for. If you are not willing to spend the 1100 - 1400 on one of the three I mentioned just clean the pool manually. Other cleaners on the market will perform ok but will not catch alot of fine particals. The three I mentioned have there own bag that you will empty as needed. Keeping that dirt from entering the filter system and the bags are easy to empty. Oh one other thing you said you heard horror stories I can tell you from when I worked on the service side of it. Any pool build that builds a large amount of pools a year will have some problems arrise. This is unavoidable. People tell you to ask for three prior customers or so that the builder installed. Lets be honest the build will not send you to an unhappy customer. When I sell a pool to a customer I provide them our customer list with several hundred names and I let them make the choice of who they call. If the build will not give you this due to his customers not wanting this information given out, ask that builder to give you a list of nine people that they ran into problems. Preferable 3 from the current year, 3 from the previous year and 3 to the year prior to that. This will give you a good idea of how that builder will handle a problem in the event something happens. Hope this helps you. Good luck
  17. First off as people have said keep the water in the pool. The cause of most problems is draining the water out. If your pool is filled back up and holding water, then the reality of it is your fine. This is providing your pool walls have not started to collapse from the water being drained. The wrinkles you talked about are just cosmetic, if you can live with them they will not hurt a thing. As far as the liner coming out of the track, you stated your husband put it back in. Providing he locked it in properly (Prior to filling the pool back up) you should be good. In the event it comes back out in the same area, very carfully heat that area of the liner with a hair dryer, stretch it up into place and lock it in the track. Again I want to stress to you not to panic wrinkles are cosmetic. Hope this helps.
