  1. You need an injector. Go to their web site and you will what to order.
  2. First off, I feel terrible for all of you going through this nightmare with Wave Tech. I could not imagine being in your position. I'm posing this as a question because I'm far from an expert on this. Does this really qualify as a basis for a class action suit? Now before anyone starts thinking I'm a Wave Tech fan let me explain. A class action suit is defined as "... a lawsuit brought by one party on behalf of a group of individuals all having the same grievance". Now although everyone has problems with Wave Tech, it seems there are different grievances. Some people have issues with pools after construction, some with issues with sub contractors, some property damage, some with sales contracts, some with building schedules, some with service, etc. Can all of these issues be addressed by one law suit? (If so then disregard this post... Maybe an attorney can answer this? ) I would hate to see someone count on a resolution through a class action suit only to find their particular problem does not meet the guidelines of the suit. If I were in "your" position, I would contact an attorney myself and pursue it as an individual. Make certain that your issues are addressed and resolved. If I'm wrong or way off base with these assumptions then I apologize. Believe me; I would love to see everyone's problems settled to their satisfaction and those responsible held accountable. I would just hate to see anyone loose out or waste time. Best of luck to you all. Reeko, If you will go back and read all these post, I think you will find the word attorney in all. I'm sure they will be advised properly.
  3. As a builder here in Fla, I have never seen a pool replastered without Bond Kote by SGM. I however have never seen a pool sand blasted before hand. Etching, acid washing, power washing are all good if done right.
  4. I have done many acid washes here in Fla and not concerned about doing them, other than the discharge. A mild wash will not rough the surface that much. As mentioned before, the pipe trick will answer some questions. Also, when drained, give the pool a very good chlrine bath. I use Cal Hypo granules and let it sit on the pool for a day, sometimes two. This will kill all growth and whiten the surface. Really bad pools I've used commercial grade peroxide. These treatments are dangerouse and caution should be used. If you acid wash, make darn sure all of it gets wash and pumped out. Acid and chlorine is a no no. The gas it oriduces can be deadly. Oh, here in Fla we make darn sure we know where the water table is or your pool will become a boat. Good luck.
  5. YES, clean it. Dont let the gauge be your sole indicator. DE filters should be backwashed about every eight weeks and broken down once a year and cleaned good and then recoated with DE. Oh, you can go to Pentairs website and pull up a drawing of the FNS for cleaning purposes. It's easy.
  6. As a pool contractor, I agree with Byron. I'd fire the sub and sue him for the repairs. Either way, have it removed and plastered correctly. My guess is this plaster is not certified by SGM, which they used to require for warranty reason. Good luck.
  7. Thats weird. Try again. www.swiminbottledwater.com
  8. As a builder and having a good understanding of hydraulics, DO NOT get a 2hp. Part of your problem now may be to big a pump. Ig the piping will not support the flow rates of bigger pumps, you create cavitation noise and extra wear on the pump and you are forcing water to fast through the filter media. If you are not supplying some water features, I would suggest a 1 hp pump. You get a better filter of your water, save on electricity and prolong the life of your pump. Bigger is NOT better. I would also NOT put sand back in your filter. I would put glass. It is the new media and it is far superior to sand. Your get a higher filter capability of organics, down to 4 microns, and you will not have to change this for at least 6 years. www.swiminbottledwater.com.
  9. I'm a builder in Fla and I have Never heard of them and dont know why anyone would build a pool That way. Sorry.
  10. It just needs to be above water level a few inches. I use Paramount and a way to tell if the water module is bad is to look and see if any cleaning heads are sticking up all the time. This means water is going into that zone when it should'nt. I dont know if you have PCC 2000 or Pool Valet though.
  11. I'm assuming your spa is raised above your pool. Valves( 2 way & 3 way) can leak so make sure that is not the issue. Ball valves rarely leak though. If you have glass block dividing the spa and pool, check the mortar bond and make sure no water passes this way. Last, check valves notoriously leak.
  12. As a builder, I never put salt in before 15 days in warmer temps. Its critical to keep PH near 7 - 7.2 the first few weeks.
  13. Diamond Brite by Southern Grouts and Mortars, is a good product. They make a product called River Rok which I believe superior to Pebble Tek. Also look in Krystal Krete products by CLI. They have a Sun Stone product that is beautiful. I've built hundreds of pools with thiese twp products and they are good. SGM I believe requires a certified installer to honor any warranty claim. These companies have web sites also.
