spatech (the unreal one) Posted February 1, 2010 Report Posted February 1, 2010 Anyone have their Evolution Spa long enough to provide meaningful data on actual electricity usage? It will only really have meaning if someone does so with a metering device. Hopefully that will be done at some time by a 3rd party or an Evolution owner willing to post the results. Quote

I'd have to say no, we don't have any meaningful data. I can only post my experience, for example, my electricity bill for Jan 2010 was $4 more expensive than Jan 2009. January 2010 was 6 degrees above average for the entire month. I guess my reason for posting is that a ) no we don't have meaningful data and b ) after 4 months of ownership I have yet to experience the shocking increases in my electricity bill directly related to the tub. I have had my Evolution Spa for about three months and so far the power bill has not been any higher than when I was running my foam filled Sundance Spa (comparing the power bills for the same months). However this is only an indication not hard data since average temperature, spa usage, amount of filtering time, amount of wind and many other things will have an impact on the power consumption. Even if you were to use a separate metering device all of these factors would have to be considered to make a good comparison between brands. Quote
