catalac Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 Would it improve the thermal efficiency to have the air vents closed when covered and not in use. Mine draws some air through the jets when the pump is on low and heating or filtering if vents open, thus it is drawing the warm air out of the cabinet and drawing cold air into replace? Quote

For spas using a circ pump this doesn't matter but for people who own spas that use a 2-speed pump for filtering I always tell them to turn the air valves off between uses for teh exact reason you are mentioning. catalac Posted January 27, 2010 Author Report Posted January 27, 2010 Thanks, mine has only one 2 speed pump. Quote
Dr. Spa Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 YES, turn them off. Air that's introduced into the spa has to escape from under the cover... into the atmosphere, carrying heat away with it. Quote
