saturnia Posted September 30, 2009 Report Posted September 30, 2009 Jandy 1400 service light came on last week and I cleaned the cell. Service light went off, but was then followed by the fault codes of 172 and 186. Cleaning the sensor with a scotch brite did not resolve the problem. The no flow light then appeared, but would go out during cell reversing. Since the temp and salinity readings were accurate, I ordered a new flow sensor. Before the new part arrived the unit started acting VERY strange. The fault codes disappeared and the all of the lights would flicker on and off randomly. After replacing the sensor the temp and salinity readings were off the charts and inconsistent. Pool temp 111, 112 and salinity 4200, 4300, 4400. Is the next step to replace the front board? Should I keep the flow sensor? Or does it sound like another problem? Any advice would be appreciated. Quote
Pool Clown Posted September 30, 2009 Report Posted September 30, 2009 That is a strange one. Had the unit been re calibrated before the problem started? Not necessarily recently, but ever? Quote

Pool Clown Posted October 1, 2009 Report Posted October 1, 2009 I would get another sensor (from my truck) and see if possibly i got a bad sensor out of the box. But i realize you don't have that luxury. You can try to exchange it, I don't know if you would have any luck with that tho. You can try to recalibrate the unit, but unless you are comfortable doing this, I would leave it for a tech. I apologize, but there is only so much that can be done to help to diagnose this over the net. If you do decide to recalibrate the unit, take a water sample somewhere you trust that does not use "test strips" to check the salinity. I will keep thinking about this and let you know if I think of anything else to try. Good Luck. Quote
