davew
I would advise you look elsewhere for a fiberglass pool. We are having nothing but problems with this company. They give you a day they will be at your house to do the work. then they don't show and it is near impossible to contact them as they are unavailable. I have the pool in the ground but no concrete deck. the ground around the skimmer on the deep end has collapsed like a sinkhole. we are wits end...So for now I would recommend you do not use them. if by chance they finish I will update this topic..but for now....wish me luck...i figure I will need it! Update: july 20, 2007 .. They did return last week july 14 to install concrete deck and coping..but still waiting for fiber optic lights to get wired..oops the electrician forgot to wire it...clean the pool..seal the concrete and clean the pool. Still not done till we get solar cover and slide iinstalled...So Still not sure what the final outcome will be..till the town inspects this project. jarnold
Castaway Pools was a mess from start to finish for us!!
jarnold
We had a fiberglass pool installed last summer, July 2006 by Castaway Pools and Spas and we paid the contract in full. Stated in the contract were a hard pool cover and a diving board. We talked to the person that installed our pool, John Sr., soon after the pool was installed and told him that we wanted to change from a diving board to a slide for safety reasons. We were told that they would be ordering the pool covers last summer 2006 so we waited. No cover ever arrived. We called and called and just got a lot of different excuses. We had to purchase a tarp cover so our pool could be covered for the winter. We let the situation go through the winter and decided to start pursuing it again in the spring on 2007. We contacted an attorney and had her sent Castaway a letter asking them for several things that were in our contract which included dirt removal, correct connection of the chlorinator, top soil and grass seed for damage they caused to a neighbors yard and of course the pool cover and slide. At this point we are willing to waive all of the items listed above and just want what we paid for and what was clearly stated in the contact--one hard pool cover and the slide. We have paid the contract in full so there should be no issue for them to give us these items. To date they have not provided us with a reason as to why they will not give us the items. I can only assume they have spent our money and now can not afford to purchase the items to give to us. We have been getting the run around on this for ONE FULL YEAR and we are only asking for what we paid for. In one of our many calls to Castaway we spoke with one of the owners. A lady named Mitch, whom we have never spoken to before, this was in June 2007. She said she would order the items and call us next week with a delivery date. We have heard nothing. We have sent several emails in an attempt to get a response and have left phone messages but to date have no resolution. My suggestion is DO NOT PAY THEM IN FULL UNTIL YOU HAVE ALL YOUR STUFF!! We believed they would deliver our items and we are still waiting!!
