TinyBubbles
Is mounting to your house the only option? Could you mount it on a post?
Kent Ohio
hmmmm, well, I assumed I would mount it to the house, that was the most obvious(to me) location. There are 3 posts holding the deck above up, 2 of the 3 are definatly too close, less than 5 feet, the 3rd might be far enough away, but I'd have to go back and get more wiring for the longer run out there, pricey at near $3/foot. But, yeah, it is more than likely going on the house.
dave nh
Here is a pic of mine attached to the house if it helps. There is an eave/gutter on second story above which keeps most of the direct weather out. The box is obviously outdoor rated. Mounting screws were sealed and i used electricians putty, The kind they put on meters outside to seal wire penetration through sill. Congrats on the new tub! House Mounted GFCI Disconnect You just used putty behind the box where the wires come from inside the house through to the box??
dave nh
Yes, sepco duct seal weatherproof compund along with a halex clamp in the box. The penetration through the house is only about 1" in diameter. Seems to do the job.
Stuart A
Or you could run a fine bead of clear silicone around the outside back edge.
