hickmysta Posted September 24, 2007 Report Share Posted September 24, 2007 could someone please tell me how to blow out the main drain...i am using a shop vac and was able to clear all lines except the main drain...i had some trouble with the slide but with the help of my compressor was able to clear the slide....i guess the vac (5hp) isnt strong enough to push the water through....i was looking for air bubbles while attempting to clear and air lock the main drain....NOTHING ,,,, PLEASE ADVISE..... its my first time closing the pool thanks in advance Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
hickmysta Posted September 25, 2007 Author Report Share Posted September 25, 2007 i am going to reply to my own post. just in case anyone else needs some help.. after doing some searching around i came across another forum response where they used a gadget called an expand an purge. Expand-N-Purge allows you to use an air compressor to remove water from lines for winterizing. Expandable rubber plug for 2" pipe. Use compressed air to force residual water from lines as part of winterizing. oh by the way this is not my website: just a link to the product. 7 dollars at my pool store around the corner.....
