i am going to reply to my own post. just in case anyone else needs some help.. after doing some searching around i came across another forum response where they used a gadget called an expand an purge. Expand-N-Purge allows you to use an air compressor to remove water from lines for winterizing. Expandable rubber plug for 2" pipe. where can i buy an air blower to clear my pool line... i saw one for 300 and change but i forget where any help appreciated

could someone please tell me how to blow out the main drain...i am using a shop vac and was able to clear all lines except the main drain...i had some trouble with the slide but with the help of my compressor was able to clear the slide....i guess the vac (5hp) isnt strong enough to push the water through....i was looking for air bubbles while attempting to clear and air lock the main drain....NOTHING ,,,, PLEASE ADVISE..... its my first time closing the pool thanks in advance

I have an inground pool. If I blow out my lines (2 inch) why do they tell me I need antifreeze....And if I do need anti freeze won't that just mix with my pool water when I open the pool next year? Also , What should I add the the water before I cover the pool for the winter ...NEW YORK AREA THANKS IN ADVANCE

does anyone have an opinion on these two pool cleaners...I'm leaning towards the blue diamond with remote control...i would really appreciate anyones suggestions for either or both.

i have a large rectangular shaped pool full sun very little debris ever in pool...algae on the bottom of deep end occasionally.Should i go with the blue diamond or should i buy the polaris 380 with the separate booster pump...electricity is expensive on long island so please advise with that in mind .

how much water does a typical 20x40 pool loose in a weeks time ? Does 2 to 3 inches sound like too much.....just installed the cover yesterday,so i hope it slows it down some......thanks again in advance........

I have a 22x44 rectangle with a walk out L shape pool.....the 20x40 solar cover is more affordable ,,,plus i dont want to go to wide with the reel (bowing problems)...MY QUESTION IS do I have to cover the entire pool water suface or can i go with the smaller cover.....I want to keep the heat in plus less evaporation...this pool has full sun..... new york area...nights get chilly...thanks for any advice

I just bought the liquid shock and added it today..i priced out the bleach(king kullen and clorox brands) clorox was 4 dollars a gallon for a 5.25% solution. the liquid shock was 12.5%.the liquid shock was 18 dollars for 4 gallons which treats 40,000 gallons of water....(up to 10ppm)....it seems that i would need double the amount of household bleach as compared to the liquid shock......ill post my results next time i have the pool store read them.....thank you once again......

hello to all......I have been reading alot about using bleach to chlorinate my pool. I currently have about 42000 gallons of water 44x22 with a walk out L. ...I am using chlorine sticks in my two skimmers (4 in each). If i use bleach ,can I eliminate using the choline sticks ? Or do i use the bleach just for a weekly shock.....I already bought baking soda at COSTCO but have yet to add any yet.Today it is raining out so I will test the pool tomorrow .....What i really need to know is how should i convert my pool to the cheaper bleach method and is it safe to mix the two (chlorine sticks& bleach) thanks in advance for any advice.....................................................
