Artesian La Paz - 3 flashing lights

Recommended Posts

Hi,

We have just bought and moved into a new house and the previous owners left behind an Artesian La Paz Hot Tub. I appreciate this is quite an old model but on the face of it looks it pretty good condition. The issue is the hot tub is regularly producing a 3 flashing lights error at which point it refuses to heat until I 'reset' it.

I have done a fair bit of reading and some of my own troubleshooting but I hope someone more experience can please help me diagnose the problem from my symptoms.

The display we have is a Spa Builders branded version of this which I have found to be a Gecko TSC-9.

At first glance the hot tub heats, and pumps without any issue. Once set temp is reached here is when the issues start.

If I try and turn the jets on stage 1 (Pressing Pump button once) I get a hum from the pump but no water flow, and then 3 red lights. If I press the Pump button again for stage 2 then the jets work full power. After pressing Pump again to turn the jets off the 3 red lights disappear.

If instead of turning the jets on I try and up the heat I get the same hum from the pump and 3 red lights, if I reduce demand for heat again then hum stops and 3 red lights disappear.

I have drained, cleaned, and refilled (sticking the hose down the filter hole) to reduce the chances of air locks. I have also run without the filter and get the same issue.

Here is a video of what I describe above. (May still be processing if you read this post quickly)

Thanks so much in advance for any assistance.
