piercy87
Sorry if this has been asked before, we have a spa, but I am struggling to understand the bromine levels. I keep adding bromine granules as per instructions along with using the floating dispenser with 4 tablets. I also dose the non chlorine shock weekly. But the bromine levels always go to 0. I’ve been trying to research a lot on bromine and it’s so confusing talking about bromide ions and creating a bank etc… the water clarity is clear but flat, I’m not using any clarifier tho. the water has been the same water for just over a month now. the spa is 800litres so not massive. A 3 seater spa. It also has an ozone for oxidation. the parameters are.. bromine 0 ph 7.4 alkalinity 100 I don’t want to empty and re fill, as this just feels like it’s not the solution. I don’t want to be emptying and refilling the spa monthly. I also added some sodium hypochlorite to shock the water the other day in case there was an algae bloom or something in the water knocking out the bromine levels. the spa is only used by me. I shower before going in every time. I do use daily.
waterbear
How are you testing your water? Are your bromine granules pure sodium bromide or are they a mixture of dichlor and sodium bromide?
