Do you turn on the SCG once you add bags of salt to pool?

I started this on a 15 year or topic and wanted to make sure it wasn't missed.

Its been more than 45 days since our replaster and we are just now adding salt - my questions is do we turn on the SWCG now or wait a few days for the salt to dissolve fully?  A few years ago after a hurricane our water balance got off and we ened up putting too much salt in the pool and the SWCG wouldn't work properly with the high salinity.  We have about a 13,000 gal pool and the contract put in 6 bags of salt - we thought that was too much - he wanted to put in 8.
