Softub - Completely Replace pump and heater

Has anyone got rid of their hydromate for the Softub and built their own custom hetare and pump system?
The jets button on my controller unit has stopped working and a repair/replacement in the UK is expensive. My softub also takes days to heat up so I started looking at getting rid of the Softub completely and buying a new inflatable or budget solid hot tub.
I then spotted a photo of someone who had bought a new pump and inline heater and built their own own custom hydromate.
Never done anything like this before so wondered if there was any advice.

Maybe use stuff like this.

Guessing I'd also have to rig some sort of air intake and box it all up.
