LizzieS
I am going on vacation for a month and don't want to leave the hot tub turned on. Can I just drain it and turn it off?
Brian VT
If you did drain it, or if you didn't, you'll likely end up with some growth in the plumbing so I would recommend an AhhSome treatment before using it when you return. That being the case, I would leave it full because you'll need it full to do the Ahhsome treatment. Otherwise you'll have to fill it, treat it, drain it, and fill it again. I think the only reason to drain it would be if there is a chance a kid could get in there and drown or if there's a chance it could freeze. Cusser
In summer when I go away, I turn the heater part off and run on "timer" mode. I can have a neighbor kid come over and add bromine tablets to the floater every 2 weeks. I also have an above-ground pool, and have chlorine tablet added every 4 or 5 days.
