kjoiner
Hello, We have a Laguna Bay spa that is 5 years old. Both pump seals leaked and have probably damaged the both motor bearings judging by the sound. The pumps are Energy Saver brand and a very expensive ($450-500 ea). I'm pretty sure another brand pump would would work but I want to check. First, I think the labels on the pumps (6hp) are overstated. Based on the voltage (240V) and the amperage (12A/4.4A) rating on the motor housing, I calculate 3.5hp max. The output of the circulating pump is listed as 340/765 L/min which converts to 90/265 gal/min. The main pump is 265 gal/min. If I'm shopping for new pumps, it seems I could look for 3-4hp pumps. Does that seem correct? Thanks, Kyle
