Hi all, Iv just found out my friend is giving me his spa! I'm super excited, anyway Iv been reading about the use of peroxide as a sanitiser and I have as much food grade 35% as I want to use but I'm on well water and have heard that's no good? And also just wanted to know your opinions on products for sanitising

Thanks

David

Hydrogen peroxide is not approved as either a swimming pool nor a spa disinfectant by the EPA. The only EPA approved disinfectant products for spa contain: 1) chlorine, 2) bromine, 3) Baquacil/biguanide/PHMB, 4) Nature2 silver ions with non-chlorine shock (MPS).

I'm old school CL or Br spa guy. not a fan of baqua or N2 due to cost and because I'm not a fan of over spending on chemicals. the old dichor-then-switch-to-bleach method works well, -- adapting this method to a bromine spa is trivial - I posted my method awhile back so its probably still lurking around this forum somewhere :-)

I'm also a big fan of purging used spas. the first thing you should do after relocating the spa is purge with ahh-some
